Well, I was going to go & fix/replace my dryer vent today, since the old outside piping had broken off some time ago & I hadn't noticed until this past Sunday. (There was a bird's nest in the hole) But since the weather was kinda "eh", I decided I didn't want to be outside trying to get things worked out, if & when it decided to rain.
So I went & got my long overdue (by 6 months) hair cut instead.
After that, I decided to go to the Zoo. Drove down there & paid with cash to park & get in. About halfway thru the zoo, I decided to get something to eat&drink. Since I had used all my cash to get in the zoo, I figured I could use the credit card to pay for things. This is when I found out my wallet was missing.
So I got no food/drink, but decided to continue on with the zoo, figuring my wallet had fallen out at home & I didn't notice. This decision lasted thru 2-3 more exhibits before I changed my mind & decided to go home & check cause if it isn't at home, then I need to be contacting some banks to get cards canceled & would rather be doing that today than tomorrow.
So I came home & my wallet was on the bathroom floor, where it had fallen out of my pants when I was taking a poop earlier in the day. & since I was home, I went ahead & cut my grass to get that out of the way (I was planning on doing that tomorrow).
Now that this weeks episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit! is over (this week was Astrology), I think I'll be going to bed. I'll post what pictures I took at the zoo to my flickr account tomorrow.

I didn't need to come home to find my mailbox laying in the gutter & my mail thrown around my front yard. Hopefully there wasn't any mail that someone decided they wanted & took.

I took some vacation time so now I have the 1st thru the 7th of July off. Figure there might be people in town around then, so have the time off to do things with them.
I also took tomorrow morning off, so I can take Mom to her doctor's appt. Mom wants to ask about hospice care & what is all involved with that. I don't think she needs it just yet, but she wants the info about it incase she decides she does between now & the next time she sees the doctor. (she sees the doctor every 3 weeks at this point)

I think
goofyrobo &
mikichan need to take Alice (& Cici) down to the museum center this Sat for BugFest!
The prices that the article mentions is for the museums, since some Bugfest events are happening in the museums. Here's a link to a PDF of the schedule & where the activities are happening.

Since the chemo was wearing mom out a whole lot, the cancer doc decided that since mom was half way thru the chemo run, to check & see if the chemo was doing anything, cause if it wasn't, then way bother with the chemo. So, mom went in for scans this past Thursday, & when to see the doc on Friday to get the results.
Well, the results are that the chemo isn't doing anything & since the doc had started mom on the strongest chemo drug, there isn't any other chemo to try. The tumors are too big for radiation to work on (she's got 3 tumors now) so basically, mom has around 6 months left to live.
Kinda bummed, but she's not gone yet & she still has things she wants to do before she's gone, so I'm going to concentrate on that for now.

I need people to goto http://www.gamefaqs.com/ today (Weds) & vote for Super Mario Kart, since if that wins, I can laugh at a co-worker who thinks Super Metroid is the greatest game ever.

I went & bought a new king size bed today. It'll be delivered on Sat & I paid the extra for them to take the old bed away, so I don't have to deal with it. I got one from the Original Mattress Factory with an Orthopedic mattress.

Got back from taking mom to the doctor. News wasn't the best, but not the worst, either. Basically, the tumor is cancer. It's not one of the cancers she's had before (she's had lymphoma & thyroid cancer), so atleast none of them are spreading in her system. Appears to be a bile duct cancer, but which type, they aren't 100% sure.
She starts chemotherapy on Thursday & will be taking it every other week for 6-8 weeks. The doc pretty much said that we'll have to wait & see until after this first round of chemo to see how the cancer responds to get any idea on things, since she said she couldn't even give mom an answer to the "How long do I have?" question.
So we get to play the waiting game, but aleast we got a gameplan for the time being.

I'm here at work this weekend as well, along with the possibility of having to work next weekend as well.
Along with mom's issues (she's got an appt with the doc on Monday to hear the test results), life is sucking!

Just got a text from Greg
"Baby 4 of 4.
Vivian Rose.
9lbs 13oz.
1:28pm."
So, looks like 4 girls for them.
& I don't know about the exact spelling of her first name. Above is how Greg sent it, but I know Melissa has a thing about wanting all of the kids names to end in "E" & was saying it was spelled with an "E" on the end, so might be "Viviane" or "Vivianne"

Since this project I'm currently working on at work has become a big disaster, I get to work thru the weekend to try & get all the problems fixed (or atleast fixed until the meeting next week changes everything)
Sucks to be me!

Heat pump stopped working right Sunday evening & I got someone to come out & look at it on Monday. Defrost circuit was bad, which cost $552 to fix & fix was kinda jury rigged, since the system was 16 years old, so who knows how long it will last. Willis has a deal where if you decide within 48 hours to replace your system, they will count the repair amount towards the cost of the new system. Willis also had coupons, good for this month) of 20% off a full system installation. So I went & made the call & got a new heat pump/air handler system. The new system is a high efficient system, so it costs a bunch. After the repair credit & the 20% off, the system cost me just under $7,200. However, because of the efficiency, I'm supposed to get $200 back from Duke Energy & can get a $1500 tax credit on my taxes next year (thanks to the stimulus package). So when I get my "rebates" back, the new system will have cost me around $5500. I went with their 3 year payment plan, so I owe $235 per month for the next 3 years. Oh well, could be worse.
