Don't you love having to work over a weekend when you're salary? I know I don't, even though that is what I'm currently doing. Sucks to be me.

On the other side, I'm going to try & get down to the Gary Burbank book signing at the Barnes & Nobles in Newport on the Levee this evening, which will mean heading down right after I leave work today.

Don't you hate getting to work & finding out you get added to someone elses project that needs to be done tomorrow & this causes you to work 12hrs today & have to get into work early tomorrow to meet the deadline?

[ETA] Just got home a bit ago, so was a 13hr day for me. Sucks to be salary.

I rented the Watchmen DVD out of a Redbox. Wasn't a bad movie (just got done watching it). Need to remember to get the DVD back to a Redbox tomorrow before 9pm. If I do, this DVD rental will only cost me $1.07. Got to like the $1+tax per day DVD rentals out of a Redbox.

Spent most of the day at Kings Island. Figure I've got a season pass, might as well use it. Got to ride Diamondback & the Avatar ride for the first time. Also rode Invertigo (Face Off), Drop Tower (Drop Zone), Adventure Express, Backlot Stunt Coaster (Italian Job: Stunt Track), The KI Train & The Crypt (Tomb Raider: The Ride).

The Crypt sucks now, since they took the Tomb Raider "story" out of it & made the ride shorter than it was.

Diamondback was really good. I wish I had known about the "Single/Standby" line, which is separate from the main line. This line is shorter, but you get assigned to make sure that all seats are filled, so you might have to wait a few trains before getting a seat. My mistake was switching to that line after waiting thru the main line. If I had stayed with the main line to the end, I would have gotten a seat a lot sooner than I had after switching.

The comedian Gallagher is going to be at the Hoosier Park Racing & Casino Sat. Sept. 26th. The park is northeast of Indy (see map), so might be a bit over 2hrs for the drive.

Mom died this morning (08/10/2009) at 5:47 am (EDT)

How are we handling Goettafest tomorrow? I guess we could do it like it was done for Taste of Cincy? Meet at some time at maderr's & leave from there? If so, what's a good time?

I currently have mom's dog Shadow here with me & I'm having trouble dealing with him on top of everything else I have to deal with at the moment. So, if anyone know someone who would want to take in an 11 year old dachshund, let me know.

Mom's currently at the hospice inpatient center. On Sunday she didn't have the strength to get back off the toilet & had to drop to the floor & crawl to get a phone to get help. On Monday morning, she couldn't get out of bed & had called hospice & got moved to their inpatient center. I've spent the past 2 days checking out nursing homes, since we were being told she could only stay at the hospice center for up to 5 days & I wasn't going to have her coming home where there isn't anyone to care for her. Found out last night that some people can stay at the hospice center, but would have to talk to the social worker for details. Basically, they have 10 spots that are for in-house residents that we'd have to pay for (which is what we'd be doing with a nursing home) & they currently only have 8 residents. I told the social worker to pencil mom into one of those empty slots. The social worker is going to check because we have to "burn off" the days the insurance will pay for before we can set her up as a resident, but said she'd go ahead & hold a slot for mom. I'll supposedly know more this afternoon.

One of my Boi Na Braza gift certificates expries on 08/06/2009, so I have about 1.5 weeks to use it. Would there be anyone willing to go for meat maybe this weekend?

The other Boi Na Braze gift certificate (along with the $25 Burbank's & the two $25 to Bucca de Beppo that I also have) expire in October, so need to plan some trips there as well in the future.

Still have the $50 White House Inn GC & $50 Mike Fink/B.B. Riverboats GC somewere at the house. Probably need to just use them at some point.
